This fundraiser is being created by the family for Stelios and Dimitra Mitossis. Dimitra is battling ALS and is now in a long term advanced respiratory facility on a ventilator, a transition that has placed an immense financial burden on the family. While ALS has taken away her ability to eat, talk, move, and breathe on her own, her brain functioning remains fully intact, meaning this young mother is fully aware of the gravity of her situation. Before this change, Stelios was making income through caring for his wife, but those funds were removed once Dimitra entered the facility. Watching someone you love go through this is incredibly painful, and the family is doing everything they can to stay strong through these hard times.

Now Stelios is faced with the heartbreaking reality of needing to find a new job at a time when his family needs his presence most. This fundraiser is meant to help ease that burden so he can continue being there for Dimitra every day at her bedside instead of stepping away to work.
