Help Steffi Pay for Graduate School
Hi, my name is Steffi Tapsoba. I plan to go to Drexel University to get a Master's degree in Software Engineering. Growing up, I wanted to have a job that would allow me to help my country develop in some way. Every time I saw news of new technological products being developed, I thought to myself "I want to do that someday! I want everybody in Burkina Faso to have access to a product I will create". After high school, I decided to study Computer Science and I fell in love with the field. I took a Software Engineering class during my undergraduate studies and I absolutely loved it. That is when I realized that this is what I want to do in the future, I want to be a Software Engineer.
Before that, I knew that I wanted to go to Graduate School, but I did not know what I wanted to specialize in. Now, I am certain that a degree in Software Engineering is what I want. Drexel is the only university in the US that accepted my application, and I really think their Software Engineering program is made for me.
My goal is to go back to my home country and develop software that would benefit the people and organizations present there. The world is constantly getting more and more computerized, so I hope to help and form aspiring Software Engineers from my country in the future as well.
Unfortunately, the tuition is too high for my family to be able to pay for all of it. As an International Student, there are few on-campus opportunities for me to work and help my parents fund my education. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance for your contribution!
