Help Stefanie Overcome Medical Expenses from Ski Accident

Hi, my name is Shawna, and I’m here to share the story of my best friend, Stefanie Bristow, who recently experienced a life-altering skiing accident on Valentine’s Day. Stefanie is truly the sweetest, kindest, and most giving person I know—a bright light in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

On that day, Stefanie and her fiancée were enjoying a beautiful day on the slopes. They paused for a quick selfie (see photos) before Stefanie confidently set off down the mountain. What should have been a joyous and carefree moment turned into a nightmare.

A snowboarder, traveling at full speed from above, collided with Stefanie, leading with their shoulder. The force of the impact was devastating, leaving Stefanie in excruciating pain and unable to move. Emergency responders quickly arrived, and Stefanie was rushed to the Trauma ICU.

Her injuries were extensive: a broken back, two broken ribs, a lacerated liver, a severe concussion, a hematoma on her spleen, and a pneumothorax. Despite these serious injuries, Stefanie is resilient! She spent four days in the hospital and has since returned home, where she works tirelessly each day with physical therapy to regain her strength.

However, Stefanie’s journey to recovery is far from over. She faces an upcoming surgery that will require another six weeks out of work, further adding to the mounting medical bills. Although she continues to show remarkable strength and determination, the financial burden of these unexpected expenses has become overwhelming.
