Help Steel Finish Flight School

Hi there! 

Many of you know me as Twitch Partner SteelRain27. A man with a passion for live entertainment and video games. My strongest passion above horses, motorcycles, acting and gaming is aviation. I am now going to do the one thing I am very bad at which is asking strangers for help.

Background:

In 2005 I decided I would leave the acting world. I was frustrated with where I was and my eyes have always turned upwards to the sky. So I made the decision to stop dreaming of it and go do it! I took out a huge loan from my bank and I went at it full bore! I was an exceptional student and relished every moment of it. I was even given the call sign "Robo" by my flight instructor for my ability to fly the plane as if it was on autopilot. I even had Hamilton Tower refer to me by it and not my planes identifier (students don't generally get call signs). However, the deeper I got into it the more I started to see that there was no work at the time. Here in Canada we had too many pilots and not enough jobs. I would have been entering into a job market with 130k debt making below minimum wage. I wanted to go airline at the time but I couldn't compete with the military. Seeing my job prospects being almost nill I decided to stop and head to college for theatre where I had already been in the industry for years. To this day I still feel that was a huge mistake. 

Present: 

Today I find myself faced with another decision. The pandemic has completely destroyed the entertainment industry, an industry I am no longer sure I even want to be a part of in terms of acting and surely enough the desire to fly and to teach has become overwhelming. So I am here doing that thing I am horrible at as I have always solved my own problems and never could ask family for assistance. I'm here asking for help and assistance to get me in and through flight school. 

Goals:

My goals are very straight forward. It's been 15 years since I have flown and I am very out of date when it comes to standards. Most of my hours should be honoured which should accelerate my training . My wish is to attend the Brampton Flight Centre and complete their 14 month 200 flight hours program which will give me everything I need. Today in Canada we have a shortage of pilots as opposed to when I was attempting to put myself through flight school last. There are many opportunities out there that I would be able pursue. This was not the case back in 2005 especially with my family. My mother and father were both dealing with cancer with mom unfortunately succumbing during my training. Being away from the family was not a possibility.

COSTS: 

Flight School is not cheap but there is a program I am looking at that would see me licensed within 14 months and a job. The total cost of the program is

What does this mean for the stream and Twitch? More content. I wish to bring you my journey of going through flight school and also take you into the cockpit after. My plans are numerous but first thing's first and that's school. The streams will not be replaced or end, the content will just be more exciting!
