Hi, my name is Shuntez and I'm fundraising for my father, who's a recent amputee. He's a father of 3 kids and recently engaged. He worked as the kitchen manager at a mid-town favorite, Cafe Eclectic for 10+ years. Yes, the big guy with the big personality to match, and who cooks some of your favorite foods was recently fighting for his life. While everyone was out enjoying the Holidays and spending time with family, as everyone should.

Tragedy struck our family on December 22, when his 17 year old son found him incoherent and slipping into a diabetic coma. When the emergency vehicles brought him to the hospital, his blood sugar was at 700. To add, his foot became infected and started to decay. I received the devastating call the next morning that I need to make a decision..."your father either lose his foot or lose his life". I immediately thought of the fact my father has spent my entire life in the restaurant business, working long hours on his feet. The decision nearly broke me but having a part of my father gone to ensure he's here for his family, made it clear what needs to be done.

The money is being raised to cover medical expenses and cost of living while he is recovering and adjusting to his new life. Knowing my father, he wants to get back to work as soon as possible.
