I’m reaching out because I’ve been given the opportunity to serve on a medical mission trip to Guatemala with an organization called Faith In Practice, and I’m asking for help covering my travel expenses.

Faith In Practice is a nonprofit organization that provides medical and surgical care to underserved communities in Guatemala by partnering with local hospitals and bringing volunteer healthcare teams to serve patients in need. This work is deeply meaningful to me, and I’m truly grateful for the chance to be part of it.

My Role on the Trip (Team 886)

I’ll be serving with Team 886, and my role will be to provide the intraoperative X-ray imaging support needed for surgeries in the operating room.

During surgery, imaging is often essential for safe and successful care. I’ll be working directly with the surgical team to provide real-time X-ray imaging that helps guide procedures and support accurate decision-making in the OR. The surgeries we assist with may include orthopedic spine cases, trauma surgery, and general surgery, but are not limited to those—we will support whatever procedures are needed based on the patients we serve during the mission week.

Why This Means So Much to Me

Missionary work has been a passion of mine ever since I started my career in healthcare. I’ve always wanted to use my skills not just where it’s convenient, but where it’s needed most. My faith has played a big role in shaping that desire and strengthening my drive to serve others, especially those who are less fortunate.

This trip feels like a true blessing and a real opportunity for me to finally do what I’ve hoped to do for years—provide care, support, and compassion to people who may not otherwise have access to it. I’m truly grateful and happy to be able to help in any way I can.

If any additional funds are donated beyond my travel expenses, I will donate the remaining amount directly to Faith In Practice to help support their continued work and future mission efforts.
