Help start this school year!

Hello! Most of you visiting this know me, my name is Jacob and I'm a senior at Western Michigan University studying Aerospace Engineering. This summer was hard, but I kept a roof over my head. Doing odd jobs and with a lot of help from family, I made it this far. Now, I'm staring down the costs of a $28,000/yr school WITHOUT federal loans!

This summer has been less of a doozy than the last, but there's few letups. I've been through some things I can't write on here. My car went down over a month ago, and with it, a lot of revenue generating capability went out the window. In addition, federal financial aid has reached its cutoff - I can no longer federally borrow, and have to find the funding for my $28,000/yr school elsewhere.

While the private student loan process can help with bulk tuition, there's things that it can't help with - notably start of semester costs, for which I need money upfront. The most pressing of these is paying off my summer balance, which got derailed when the car went down. I only have two weeks before classes start, and I haven't been able to register because of this! In a catch-22, I also can't get a private loan until AFTER the next semester starts... which I can't register for until the balance is paid off.

In addition, various start-of-semester costs happen every year, which need to occur before the semester. Therefore, everything from getting books, getting the car running and parking paid for, and other tasks are included in the project amount for this GoFundMe.

Last semester, with everyone's help, I had a solid start to my semester and knocked it out of the park. I'm looking to do that again now that I'm deep into my majors coursework - every class I have now unlocks new possibilities! These are the classes I need to get an internship or contract engineering position to start my career and hopefully not have to do this GoFundMe thing again.

I've worked so incredibly hard to get here, and so many others have helped me get here, too. We are almost across the finish line - lets get there together!
