Help Start Our Production Company

Hey, y'all.
For those who don't know me, my name is Ganeesh Genus, and I am a filmmaker from West Palm Beach, Florida residing in Queens, NY. I am a graduate of St. John's University and The City College of New York with a BS in Television and Film Production and an MFA in Media Arts Production (fancy talk for Film). I am starting this campaign in hopes of making enough money to start my own production company. The goal right now, as I see it, is to create something for us that will last. I want to make the kind of content that will live on many different platforms and speak to tons of people I'll never get the chance to meet. With everything going on in the world with COVID-19 and the safety measures we as a society will have to take moving forward, it is very possible that many theaters won't survive. We'll be ushering in an entirely new era of how we consume content. I want to be at the forefront of that.
A few projects have already been put into pre-production, including a "live" concert experience and a standup special, and other projects are in the the development stage.
So, where is your money going? Good question. The money will be used to get an LLC, trademark the name of the company (which will be announced), and kickstart those two projects that are already in pre-pro. It'll also be used for a little more equipment for future projects, and paying freelancers that may be brought on. They'll mostly be Black and brown, as well.
Why should you donate? Name 5 production companies owned and operated by a Black person. I'll wait...
But, on a more serious note, career-wise I believe this would be my next step as an independent filmmaker, and your donation would help me take that step, and also create more meaningful work.
