Hi all. I am raising funds to start the Moose Ranch Apiary! All I need are some beekeeping supplies. I have a lead on a donation of bees, since it is swarming season. I have spent time time since I lost my job unexpectedly in January learning all I can about bees and their care. I joined the Mason Valley Beekeepers club as well as attended the Northern Nevada Beekeepers' conference in February. It was 3 days of so much bee knowledge I jokingly say I attended "bee college". I accompanied the Tribal beekeeper on a hive inspection and even spotted the queen, so cool!!!!!!

I will list the things I would purchase with the funds. Hive, suit, and assorted tools. There are mite treatments that will be required as well. It's not IF the bees have varroa mites, it's about managing what they DO have. **Bee college knowledge!

I am hoping this will be just the start to a business here on the Moose Ranch. (There are more things in the works!!) But more importantly, I love bees and want to support pollinators. Learning by doing will be the best way to do that.

*note! Anything over the initial ask will be used for maintenance for the current hive through this year and into the next. If I get to $1500 I will definitely be able to expand to 2 or more hives next year.
