Help start an Islamic Montessori school!

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

From the moment your first child was born, you no doubt began thinking (and perhaps worrying) about how you were going to ensure the safe and healthy development of your child's heart, mind, and body. As Muslims, we know that education and tarbiyyah go hand-in-hand. And, we know this journey starts from the first day of life.

But, here's the problem:

While it is well-known that the first six years of life are the most important, most children do not have access to high-quality early childhood programs. Muslim children in the West are especially vulnerable to this reality considering their need for research-based teaching methodologies that do not merely sprinkle Islam on top of secular approaches.

Parents everywhere are struggling to raise God-conscious, confident, independent children. This is largely due to the disconnect between home, school, and masjid. Tarbiyyah doesn't just happen at home and knowledge isn't just gained in school. Children need high-quality educational institutions that support them and their families.

Muslim parents know how difficult it is to find trustworthy, high-quality educational pathways for our children. A holistic, integrated approach to child development that effectively serves children and simultaneously supports parents is necessary.

Alhamdulilah, helping to develop such a school is a Sadaqah Jariyah, charity that continues to benefit people long-term and continues to earn the giver rewards even after death. Allah tells us in the Qur'an that the reward of spending in charity is like “a grain of corn which grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains” (2:261). In a well-known narration, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “When a son of Adam dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”  May Allah accept our good deeds and weigh them heavily in our favor.

Insh'Allah, by the will of Allah, Lehigh Valley Montessori School  will launch this fall as the first Islamic Montessori preschool in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Open to all, LVMS will begin by offering an authentic early childhood Islamic Montessori program for children ages 3-6.  Our approach merges the Montessori method with holistic Islamic principles in education and tarbiyyah. Over time, we hope to grow and expand our program offerings through high school, insh'Allah.

Our mission is to meet the educational, religious, cultural, and social needs of preschool-age children in the Lehigh Valley. We envision developing a God-conscious, wholesome village of life-long learners.

Insh'Allah, LVMS will:
-offer one primary classroom (ages 3-6) in its first year
-secure a permanent facility and expand program offerings through elementary school in the first five years
-serve a greater number of families in the region
-hire additional Montessori-certified teachers
-hire additional Arabic & Qur'an teachers
-share our knowledge and ideas with Muslims around the world

Your generous contribution will go towards funding the following necessities during our first year, insh'Allah:
