Help bring back Illinois Robot Combat

Hi everyone I wanna thank you for taking time to read this and hearing me out , I have a huge passion for combat robotics I always have but my life led me in a different direction for a long time and I never did much more than watch on TV as I honestly never knew there were different weight classes I always thought you either build a big bot or your not gonna compete. Last March I found out that there is most definitely smaller classes to compete and learn in and I went bonkers and just had to learn how to build, it was a difficult process to learn as there is no clubs or really any robotics of any sort here in Chicago so it was alot of trial and error and traveling as the closest tournament is in Wisconsin. But it has been the best time of my life honestly and I have gone full in with robotics I even got my son involved , taught him how to build and he competes along the side of me a true blessing from God!! I would like to bring this great sport to the Chicagoland area and build a combat arena but with that being said the arena I wanna bulid is a bit expensive...safety is number 1 as these are some seriously dangerous machines and I need a well built arena to hold safe yet exciting tournaments . If you could even just spare $1 it would help me accomplish this goal of teaching some new builders how to get started and give them a spot to compete that isn't to far , I will get this done no matter what but with your help we can get this done together !
