Help Star and Daney Pay Legal Fees

Donation protected
Hi, most of you know us by now, but we are the Carvalhos. Daney and I fell in love the moment we met. It was true love at first sight as cliché as that may sound. We have traveled far just to meet each other face to face. I am from the US, and well, he's from Brazil. Every time we would travel to see each other, the goodbyes were always the most difficult. We never would want to part ways and we would cry our hearts out at the airport, wishing that we were from the same country so that we would never have to say goodbye ever again. All we want is to be able to live our lovely lives and grow old together.

So, on Christmas Day in 2022, Daney has proposed to me and from that moment onward, it became real. A dream that we both had, no longer felt like a dream, but rather, a reality. A dream come true.

We got married in September in 2023. The best day of our lives, but also, the beginning of a long and tiring process. As with all things legal, we have to abide by the laws and in this case, immigration law. We carefully chose a lawyer who will be by our side and help us throughout this process. Gathering documents and bona fide proof, and what-have-you. After countless hours of making sure we have all the right things in order to apply for our petition, we are almost at the finish line. We just need to file the petition and hope that immigration gives us the green light. However, before we can send it out, we are faced with having to pay legal fees upfront. We are asking for your help to help us raise $8,000. The biggest issue we face at hand besides the legal fee, is time. As of April 1st, 2024, the fees to process this petition will increase. So you can see, we are in a bit of a time crunch because we want to ensure that this application gets sent out with enough time to process.

Any two US citizens that fall in love, can get married and be able to live happily ever after, but when two people fall in love being from two separate countries that we didn't choose to be born from, we are faced with this immigration process. A process that we are doing despite it being extremely overwhelming and exhausting, it is also the legal and moral way of doing things. And, if you know either of us on a deeper than surface level, we are very ethically moral people. No matter how much this process has been a rollercoaster for us, we would do it a million times over if it meant we get to be together and have our happily ever after. Because, to us, we are it for each other. Not a choice, but a fact.

So from the bottom of our hearts, we are asking for your help. Donations of any size means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read all the way through and for your donation if you kindly decide to do so. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
