Help "Stann & Gloria" Reach the Finish Line

Acclaimed writer/director Penny Allen and cinematographer Eric Edwards have wrapped production on their brand new feature film Stann & Gloria. With your help, our goal of raising $35,000 will allow us to complete necessary financing for post production, and share this timely, remarkable story with the world.

The Story - Stann & Gloria follows the lives of two passionate lovers (played by Pierre Philippe and Nelly Lawson), who must navigate a series of dangerous situations that bare eery resemblance to our current cultural landscape.

About Penny Allen - Penny is a writer, director and activist that began her career in Portland, Oregon with the satirical docudrama *Property* in 1979. The smashing success of this film would set a precedent for her future works, all created with a focus on writing stories about outsiders and directed with a DIY ethos. She has been credited as an inspiration by a wide array of directors and artists, including Gus van Sant, an early collaborator of hers.

Penny is also the creator behind Paydirt (1981) , The Soldier’s Tale (2007) and Late for My Mother’s Funeral (2013) , all of which were screened at a sold-out 2017 retrospective at New York’s acclaimed film house Metrograph.

A briefing from the Metrograph website concludes - “It was Franco-American Penny Allen who captured the particular eccentricities of the Pacific northwest, then a last redoubt for the routed counterculture. Allen helped put Oregon on the map…the influence of her films’ humanity and integrity is enormous in Portland and beyond”. She is now based in Paris.

About Eric Edwards, DOP - Eric Edwards has an outstanding career and has been the cinematographer on more than 65 movies, including Gus Van Sant’s My Own Private Idaho (1991)- in which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. He is also the cinematographer behind Van Sant’s To Die For (1995), and Larry Clark’s Kids (1995), both of which had spectacular premieres at Cannes Film Festival. Recent credits include John Krasinski’s The Hollars which enjoyed a Sundance premiere. Similarly to Allen, he is a Portland native.

Your contribution - Crowdfunding sourced through this campaign will help our team’s vision come fully into fruition in the editing room. Your contribution will help us finish color correction, sound mixing, and make a DCP that will allow our film to be distributed in the highest quality possible. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Scale of donations- Donors that contribute up to a certain monetary amount will get a screen credit in the final cut of the film as follows -

Associate Producer: $500 - $1500

Co Producer: $2,000 - $3,500

Executive producer: $4000.00 or more

All producers will get a DVD copy of the film once a distributor has been secured. If you wish your donation to be anonymous and/or you would not like a screen credit, please notify us at the time of donation.
