Help Stanley get Life-Saving Gender-Affirming Care

Hi there! My name is Stanley (he/they) and I am calling upon my family, friends, and community with help raising funds for my top surgery later this year.

The surgery will cost roughly $11,000, and I'm in a position where I am needing to call upon my community to help me prior to my surgery date in October. I have already saved up $1,500 to keep me afloat while I take time off of work to recover, and I will be able to save up $4,000 prior to my surgery in October. That leaves $7,000 leftover for surgery fees, facility fees, anesthesia bills, and so forth that is not covered by my insurance. The last $250 is to account for the transfer fees it will take to get the funds raised here on GoFundMe to my bank account.

I have been waiting a long time to make this happen. It has taken numerous doctor's visits, many therapist and doctor recommendation letters, countless calls to medical offices to get the right paperwork in the right hands, alongside numerous days of thought of what kind of top surgery is right for me. I'm very grateful I've finally been able to meet my surgeons and book this appointment, and for the sake of my mental health, I cannot put off waiting to receive this life-saving surgery any longer.

I work in LGBTQ+ youth advocacy in Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, and Placer counties, and I spend a lot of my time helping these queer youth find resources, community, and the ability to thrive. I also am an illustrator and work to put my artistic skills to good use, whether it is for fundraising efforts, donating my art to good causes, or humorous comics to help others feel less alone.

I have a very hard time accepting help, and I also recognize this is a time where I need to in order to overcome this huge financial hurdle. Thank you so much. I appreciate each and every one of you. No donation amount is too little.
