Hi, my name is Stanley, I am 69 years old. I came to the U.S. from Poland in 1984 seeking asylum from communism. I have a wonderful family, I'm a husband and father of 2 now-adult kids (a daughter and a son). In 2022 I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I had chemotherapy in the end of 2022, then I had my stomach removed in March 2023 and my surgeon made me a "new stomach" using my intestines. Shortly after that, I had more chemotherapy and I had no spread of cancer and was doing well.
Then, in October 2024, I found out I had metastasis to a lymph node near my liver and on my liver. At the end of January 2025, I had jaundice due to the liver tumor blocking my bile ducts. I was hospitalized and surgeons inserted draining tubes into my spleen and liver, which saved my life. I still have drains until my bile ducts are unblocked, which must be changed surgically monthly. I've lost over 30 pounds since my jaundice started.
I've currently started chemotherapy and immunotherapy and have been feeling weaker and am having trouble gaining weight and eating well enough. My insurance doesn't cover everything and all of these treatments, procedures, appointments, etc., all costs lots of money. Because chemotherapy isn't always effective and is hard on my body, I'm also looking at alternative cancer treatments which could save my life. These alternative cancer treatments cost tens of thousands of dollars, since they're not covered by my insurance.
If you're able to, please donate any amount that you can. Anything helps to bring me closer to my health and enjoying more years with my family. Please share my GoFundMe to spread my story to more people.
Thank you so much,
Stanley and family
