Hi to all my friends and family, both close by and everywhere else.
Not sure how to start this, but as a small few (family, friends and clients) of you know, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in January.
I had the first surgery to place the chemo port and j-tube (feeding tube), as I couldn’t eat or drink anything by then.
I started and finished the first round of chemo between the months of March and the first of May. Many thanks to God and Dr. Gibs and his crew. I worked and carried on with life with the love and support of friends and family.
The next two-month round will follow the big surgery.
I had my second surgery on June 11th to prepare for this big one to remove the tumor and affected nodes, which I just went through on the 9th of this month.
As I sit here at OHSU (amazing treatment, by the way), looking at the first week of recovery, and I type this out, pride tells me to close this tab and move on, but I am going to give it a shot anyway (3rd time I’ve typed this). The first half of the year was rough; the next few months will be the same, so I come hat in hand, asking for a little help.
Thank you. And love you all.
Stan
