Help! Stage 4 Colon Cancer needs a New Well
Hi, my name is Rose. I’m fundraising for my sick father-in-law who has Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He was diagnosed September 2019. At that time he was only given 3-6 months to live. He is a Hardworking father and a Grandfather. He’s been a truck driver for over 35 years. When he was diagnosed he was under 65 years old and his Health Insurance was limited. He didn’t have Medicare at the time. His Medical Bills was extremely high. He was devastated! The Doctor put him on a Permanent Disability and he will never work again.
He had his Colon removed immediately and now has a Colostomy bag. First Chemo worked. Just early this year Doctors and Surgeons were supposed to put his Colon back but the Cancer spreads to his Lungs, Liver and his Testicles. He had several surgeries right after. And Chemo continued. He is very weak and has limited activities.
He is keeping his Spirits up and staying positive. Now after 4 Surgeries and 31 Chemo treatments.
Couple of months ago, at the end of May we found out that the water pressure at his house became very low and there was Sands in the water. We immediately replace the filter to remove the sand, replace the In ground pump. But it’s only temporarily. We called the Well driller to check it out. We were told that they need to dig a new well. And we have to replace it soon. Because it could fail during winter and would be almost double to replace. The Well is about 15-20 years old and the house was built in 1956
Dad worked very hard to purchase this house. Every penny he saved and also keeping his family together. He now has limited income since he was diagnosed and unable to work. My husband and I are doing as much as we can to help but our income is also limited.
I rarely ask for help but this time I have no choice to. We cannot come up with the money fast enough to address this issues. We are hoping to dig a new well as soon as possible before the Winter comes.
They estimated to dig a new well would be close to $10,000.
We are continuing to help Dad with his Cancer but we are asking for help to get him a clean water.
Anything would be appreciated. We thanked you all in advance!
