Help Stacy Recover after the devastating Kona Low Flood

Aloha, my name is Kanani Oury, Stacy has been a close friend for almost 20 years. I grew up in Haleiwa & Waialua and I have never seen flooding of this extent.

Stacy is part of our hospitality community, she is part of the dive community, she embodies community. She is one of the most generous and giving souls you will ever meet. She is also one of the last people to ask for help. Now she needs us.

This is her story.

In 2020 Stacy bought her dream home across the street from her best friend on Haona Street in Waialua. She planted herself there and started to build the home that she would grow old in. Everything Stacy had was in that home. It was a perfect scenario.

In the earliest hours of Friday, March 20th the second wave of the "Kona Low" storm system swept in swiftly. Jess ran across the street and frantically woke Stacy, who escaped with only the shirt on her back. Stacy lost everything she had built, she lost her car, her personal belongings, her appliances. There was no way to save anything except themselves.

The entire Haona neighborhood was damaged beyond recognition, everyone is at a great loss. Stacy and Jess have a long road ahead and we are asking our community to support them through this very hard time.

We have set this GoFundMe up for Stacy Lieser, to get back on her feet. We cannot replace what she had, but we can help her rebuild, she will need clothes, appliances, furniture... everything.

When we spoke with Stacy about setting up a GoFundMe, she kept saying others needed the help more, she still wanted to put others first! After much discussion, she finally agreed when she realized that nothing that was in her home would be covered by her flood insurance policy, however, only if she could make the promise that if there is extra funds that she would assist her neighbors with those funds.

Any donations to help her rebuild and ease the stress of this tragic situation and help with the cost of being displaced will be very much appreciated.
