Help Stacy get her Medical Alert Dog

Donation protected

As a result of a poorly performing pancreas, Stacy Cauley had to have multiple life-saving surgeries in 2012-2013 to remove portions of her pancreas. With just a very small portion of her pancreas still in place, Stacy Cauley became a very brittle Type 1 diabetic and since then, she’s nearly lost her life multiple times from diabetic related issues, mainly hypoglycemic episodes.

Some of those episodes come when awake, but most come when asleep. They can cause her to pass out and have to be saved/brought back by loved ones and/or EMS. In those situations, her family or EMS try to stabilize her until she gets to the hospital. On at least two occasions, she almost didn’t make it to the hospital and kept slipping away during the commute.

As a result of those dangers, she is unable to live on her own now and has had to move back into her parents’ home to make sure she can be monitored or ensure there are extra safety measures. When by herself or when asleep, if she passes out, she doesn’t have the time orability to correct herself.

Please help Stacy regain her independence    by helping her to raise funds to purchase and train a Diabetic Alert Dog. These unique animals can sense the sugar levels of their owners, alert them early, and help their owners get to safety before the dangerous episode occurs. With time, Stacy hopes to be able to again live on her own and this animal is her first step   to regaining independence.
