Let's Help Stacy and Sawyer Land & Sea!

Many of you may have heard that Sawyer, one of our favorite community retail stores, is closing this week. Stacy, the shop's extraordinary owner, has told me that she and her team have received many emails asking, "what would it take to keep the doors open?"
Given our unprecedented times, the answer is quite simple; it is no longer possible to keep the retail store in operation. Sawyer's balance sheet tells the story: March-May 2019 sales were $100,000 while this year's March-May receipts were less than $5000, and it is clear that the burden of her financial commitments will continue long into her future without some help. Sawyer's story is similar to that of many other small businesses in our community, and the reality is that it will be impossible to continue with "business as usual."
In all my years of friendship with Stacy, I have never seen her unwilling to help her community, give back, and to support others. She is beyond generous. Now, I am very hopeful that the community she has always rallied around will now rally to help her!
There are two ways to do this. (1) Although Stacy was against a "Go Fund Me" campaign, stating adamantly that "I am not alone in this suffering," she has finally agreed to accept financial aid, knowing that she has ongoing small business payments, as well as invoices that are now due. Although she is actively seeking other employment opportunities, we know that this will be a difficult task in the current economy. My request is that you give whatever you can, no amount is too small. (2) Also, Stacy is now selling the remaining Sawyer inventory online at sawyersupply.com. You can purchase and have items shipped, or you may pick them up in the store on for her final sale on Locals Day, Sunday, May 10, from 11:00am - 4:00pm. Everything left will be 50% off, so feel free to drop by and shop.
Thank you in advance for anything that you might be able to do. Your contributions and/or purchases will genuinely make a difference!
