Help Stacy and Family Through Medical Crisis

Hello everyone. My name is Maribel and I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend and fellow Zumba instructor, Stacy Zamora.

Stacy is married to Jesus and has 2 kids, Alexander and Elizabeth. Alexander is 17 and at age 3 was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He is in a wheelchair and needs full-time help. She is his main caregiver.

Last year, her husband, Jesus, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer after a routine colonoscopy and has been battling it ever since, getting treatment every 2 weeks, which leaves him very weak.

This month, Stacy’s bowels stopped working. A CT scan revealed a mass in her colon, and Stacy just had to have an ostomy (bag for colon) placed. She has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

Stacy is looking at a long road ahead dealing with chemo and radiation, as well as the ostomy. Due to the surgery, she is very weak and has been unable to care for her son. She used to work odd jobs in the evening when her husband came home but can no longer do Zumba or any kind of lifting. Her 23-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, is now the caretaker for the household.

I am hoping we can help raise funds to help cover the insurmountable medical expenses that are piling up, as well as hopefully be able to get a caregiver to come in and help with her bedridden son.
