Help Staci Johnson Get Back on the Road

I am Staci Johnson and I am a single mom that currently has no transportation. Our car broke down on Sept 29, 2023. It needs a new transmission. It is a 2016 Nissan Sentra and since it is a CVT transmission, it cannot be rebuilt and must be bought from the manufacturer.

I have had several estimates and they all total near or over $5000 for parts and labor. I am about $2000 short of that. I have had several people suggest starting a GoFundMe but I haven’t been able to bring myself to do it. I know so many are struggling in today’s economy. Anything helps and I will be ever so grateful.

I go back to work in August and I’m worried I will lose my job if I don’t have transportation back and forth. A friend of mine offered to let me use her car for a while in October. I used it for two months until she needed it back. Another friend offered to let me use their spare van and I used that for 4 months until they needed it back. I rented a car for the last few weeks of school so I wouldn’t lose my job. We haven’t had a car all summer and we have managed with rides from people and lots of walking.

Anyone that knows me well, knows I hate asking for help. But anything you could spare would be so appreciated.
