In the last 7 days things have been turned upside down for our little 4 girl team of a family! Last week I got a call from my sister that she was having uncontrolled bleeding, had passed out on the toilet, cracked her face open and woke up on the floor not sure how she got there! When I got to her house the nurse in me knew this wasn’t good and sure enough we did infact have a problem that we found out as of yesterday in indeed Endometrial Adenocarcinoma. Last week in the hospital she lost half her blood volume in just a day of bleeding, an emergency DNC was done that revealed her uterus was full of polyps which have been confirmed to be cancerous.
Stacey has decided that since we have no idea of how long this has been going on, the fear of bleeding out everytime she pees now and direction from what seems to be a very very competent medical team that immediate and aggressive action is our best course.
That being said we’ll be getting blood work and some scans next week followed by a full hysterectomy on the 19th which will then give us true staging and prognosis.
Considering this has all transpired in 7 days, we’re all caught off guard and obviously unprepared. My sister, as many of us do, lives pay check to paycheck. She will qualify for Short term disability benefits through her employers however that will not cover event just her basic monthly bills. As any real American her first words after hearing You have cancer was “I can’t afford it” and we won’t let that be the barrier!!! My mom and I are obviously fully committed to figuring it out however we need to, however I’m asking for some help to get Stacey a nest egg that she can have for the next few months to ease the worry as we navigate the surgery as well as what will come next!
The particular cancer markers showing do seem to be the more aggressive forms and will most likely require chemo and possibly radiation so I’m really just trying to get a head start on helping her with the financial burden so that she can focus on the fight ahead ❤️❤️
If you know me personally you know I much prefer being the one fixing the problem, asking for help isn’t my strong suite, however this is one of those times when pride doesn’t matter anymore, this is my only sibling and she never gave up on me the 15 years I was battling my addiction so there will be no giving up now!!! I know times are hard for everyone so please prayers and share the link are just as powerful as donations themselves ❤️❤️❤️
