My name is Avery Johnson and I, with my sister Kati Anderson, are raising money to help our mom, Stacey Walker, pay for her medical bills. My mom has been sick for a while, but she has avoided seeking medical care because she does not have insurance. She was scared of the cost and scared to find out what was wrong. Finally on January 24th my sister and myself convinced her to go to the emergency room. However, as she was getting ready to leave she felt like she could not breathe. She did not fight us when we decided to call an ambulance.

Less than 24 hours later, she has been admitted to the ICU for COVID, internal bleeding, and cirrhosis of the liver. She received multiple blood and plasma transfusions to counteract the internal bleeding. After hours of being unable to raise her oxygen levels past 89% she had to be intubated and put on a ventilator. The condition of her liver has wrecked havoc on the rest of her body.

We graciously ask for any help you can provide. Based on the level of care she needs to get better, we anticipate a hefty bill by the time she comes home.
