Charlii isn’t just my service dog — she saved my life. She has been my protector, my grounding force, and my constant companion. She alerts me when my blood pressure spikes, keeping me safe during moments that could have turned dangerous. She helped me break out of isolation, get outside again, and rebuild a life with freedom, independence, and dignity. Charlii gave me the courage to step back into the world. She helped me experience joy, community, and a quality of life I couldn’t reach on my own. She has been my safety, my comfort, and my purpose. People often ask, “Who rescued who?” With Charlii, the answer is simple: she rescued me.
Now, I’m facing the heartbreaking reality that Charlii is dying. I want to make sure her final days are filled with comfort, love, and dignity. I need help to cover the cost of at-home euthanasia and provide her with everything she needs to be at peace. At the same time, I’m preparing for the next chapter — finding a new service dog who can help me continue the life that Charlii helped me rebuild. Without a service dog, I risk losing the progress I’ve made, especially when it comes to monitoring my blood pressure, preventing dangerous episodes, and staying connected to the world outside my front door.
A new service dog will help me stay medically safe, maintain my independence, prevent isolation, and continue healing emotionally after losing Charlii. With your support, I hope to regain stability during this transition, maintain the freedom Charlii gave me, and keep building a life that is healthy, safe, and meaningful. This next chapter will be hard — but with a service dog by my side, I won’t lose the independence I’ve fought so hard to achieve.
Every single contribution — even the smallest amount — makes a meaningful difference in my life. Truly. This fundraiser isn’t just about money… it’s about helping me stay safe, independent, and emotionally grounded during one of the hardest transitions I’ve ever faced. A few dollars helps with medication. A little more helps with comfort items for Charlii. Even a small donation moves me closer to being able to continue my journey with the support of a future service dog. Every act of kindness reminds me that I’m not alone, and it helps me hold onto hope in a time of grief and change. Your support — in any amount — means the world.
One of my favorite memories with Charlii isn’t really a single moment — it’s the pattern she created in my life. Every time my blood pressure spiked, she would rush to my side and nudge me until I listened to her. She always knew before I did. That look in her eyes — focused, determined, protective — made me feel safe in a way no person ever has. It’s the way she always showed up for me. Her quiet intelligence. Her loyalty. Her deep knowing. That’s my favorite memory: the way she saved me every single day without asking for anything in return.
