Help St. Paul's school
Donation protected
Seven years ago, I initiated a fundraising campaign for St. Paul's School in India, when working for the school as a volunteer teacher. Following our first successful project in 2016, I've visited the school multiple times and witnessed first-hand that the donations have been put to good use (see the photos at the bottom of this page). The whiteboards we purchased are still in use and the projector bought with your help continues to engage children in learning English through films.
Previous donations served as a great ‘extra’ for the school and the children. The school is currently in more urgent and pressing need of funds.
The COVID-19 pandemic has left the school in a financially precarious situation. Long-term closure has severely affected their finances as they largely rely on nominal contributions from the students' parents. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the school is now struggling to meet critical needs such as paying teachers' salaries and conducting necessary building maintenance.
I'm inviting you to step up and help. We need to raise a minimum of EUR 2,500 to provide immediate relief. I promise to cover all transaction and banking costs, ensuring that every cent of your donation benefits the school.
St. Paul's School is managed by a dedicated family with a great passion for children and education. The senior teachers/family members have been working as teachers for more than 30 years. They train their children who also show interest in education and in some cases already work as teachers at the school. With experienced teachers and a solid curriculum, children enjoy a good basic education. This is important because opportunity inequality often starts at a young age, especially in India.
Historically, the school (established in 1984) has been self-reliant and has not depended on donations for its continuity. Your contribution today serves as a vital lifeline that can help this successful institution recover from an unforeseen setback.
Additionally, I am working with the school to ensure that your donations not only help in the immediate term but also pave the way for longer-term investments to increase the school's financial resilience in the future.
Let's come together once again to support St. Paul's school. Your generous contribution can play a crucial role in providing a sustainable future for the school and its students.
Lastly, the Himalayan Education Lifeline Program (HELP), the non-profit I volunteered with in 2016, is urgently seeking English volunteer teachers for village schools in the Indian and Nepalese Himalayas. No prior teaching experience is needed; HELP can steer you towards a basic online TEFL course. If you're contemplating a gap year, career break or a long vacation, this could be an enriching opportunity which I cannot recommend highly enough. Contact me or HELP for more information.
