National Veterans Golden Age Games May 31 - June 5, 2025

A little bit about us, we are known as the Friends of Veterans. We are a nonprofit organization and 100% of the money we earn is used to assist our veterans on this mission. There is no one employed by us as we are all volunteers, just like our military. What we are is mainly a group of veterans of all branches of the military ranging from ages 55 to as old as one can get. We compete nationally in what is called the National Veterans Golden Age Games. Each year it is held in a different city. Last year it was in Salt Lake City Utah and this year it will be in Memphis Tennessee. Our team has roughly 28 members who represent St. Louis Metropolitan area. Examples of the events we play in are Track and Field, Swimming, Air Pistol and Rifle, Bowling, Boccia Ball, Corn Hole, Golf, Badminton, Horseshoes, Pickle Ball, Bicycling, and Eight Ball. Every state has at least one team that competes in the games. This makes up at least 1000 veterans making an attempt to win a gold medal. In 2024 Team St Louis had 28 athletes participated in Salt Lake City, UT. The Team brought back 54 medals and ribbons. With Your contribution, it will help offset the cost for travel and lodging for our Veterans who will compete against Over 1000 veterans from around the United States. 100% or your donation goes to Veterans.

Like everything else, there can be a heavy cost to each veteran in being able to do this. The VA is nice enough to pay for their meals, but the cost of travel and lodging is the sole responsibility of each veteran. This is where we come in. It is estimated that the cost per veteran this year will be $1,000.00 each. Us veterans each year try to raise as much money as we can in an attempt to offset these expenses to make it feasible. What I would like to ask of you is exactly this. Could you support our warriors and our great country with a sponsorship. We work hard to represent our city, state, and country. The reward of seeing a 95-year-old veteran from our town win an event is phenomenal, especially when he has a history of being a recovered spinal cord patient and being able to make an amazing accomplishment as this.

Without help from you and the community, many veterans who train at the Veterans Hospital will be unable to participate in these Golden Age Games.
