Rebuilding the communities of John Reid, Cuffridge and Davis Town in the parish of St Ann Jamaica.

Jamaican restaurant owner, Jason Rhoden of Kingston 99 in Pittsboro, NC and proudly representing the St. Ann community (from which he hails) is partnering with Pastor Rodney Bowerbank of the Shiloh’s Apostolic Church, Cuffridge , St Ann, Jamaica in an urgent recovery effort for the residents of their community. With a united effort, we are asking for your financial support to bring essential resources, rebuilding aid, seeds , fertilizer and hope to these rural farming communities affected by Hurricane Melissa. Every dollar raised from this effort will be distributed by the church through their community organization in the named communities above.

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, unleashing its fury upon our island nation. The storm's powerful winds and torrential rains left a trail of destruction in its wake, affecting thousands of families, homes, and businesses.

The communities mentioned are small farming communities in St Ann. Much of the area lies in ruin after hurricane Melissa tore through the island leaving devastation in its wake.

While there are no reports of lives lost, 70% of all zinc roofs and board dwellings were partially or completely destroyed. Not having shelter is a big deal and source of instability anywhere in the world but for these communities losing 80% of their farms which is also their livelihood is even a bigger deal. Not having food to eat or crops to reap and the resulting loss of potential earning could be more devastating in the coming weeks and months.

As the communities begin the long process of recovery, residents are coming together to pick up the pieces but need a lot of support to give that the needed jumpstart. Currently, the communities are without electricity and communication, together with significantly damaged road infrastructure, which makes it difficult to get their lives on track.

Our goal:
We aim to raise funds to support the most vulnerable members of our communities including food, shelter, seeds and fertilizer.
Your contribution big or small, will make a tangible difference in the lives of those in these St. Ann communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Your support will help us:
- Provide immediate relief to families in need
- Support long-term recovery efforts, including rebuilding homes and infrastructure
- Foster economic growth and stability in these communities

Let's Rebuild Together:
Join us in this effort to rebuild and restore Jamaica. Your contribution will bring hope and relief to those who need it most. Let's work together to rebuild our island nation and create a brighter future for all Jamaicans.
