GoFundMe Campaign — Sri Lanka Cyclone Ditwah Relief

My name is Sam Silva, President of Lucas Builders, Inc., and I was born and raised in Sri Lanka before building my life and business here in California. I visited Sri Lanka this summer — walked its markets, saw its beauty, spoke with people whose lives now lie scattered in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah.

This is personal. These are my people, my roots, families now pushed out of their homes and left searching for food, dry ground, and a moment of certainty.

We are raising $8,000 to provide direct food relief to households displaced by the cyclone.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Every dollar will go straight toward essential goods purchased inside Sri Lanka and delivered into the hands of families who need them most:

Bags of rice

Lentils and dry staples

Canned foods

Milk powder and baby formula

Clean drinking water

Basic hygiene items

To make this effort fast, honest, and effective, we are partnering with Ariya Foods. Prasad, our trusted local partner, will manage the procurement, packaging, and distribution of all supplies on the ground in Sri Lanka.

I will personally oversee the process from here, collect receipts, track deliveries, and share updates so donors can see exactly how their contributions turn into real relief. Transparency isn’t a slogan — it’s the guardrail that keeps this mission true.

Cyclone Ditwah washed away homes in a single night, but it didn’t wash away hope — not if we stand up now.
