My name is Mirusha Adampulle and I was born and raised in Sri Lanka.
Even though I now live in the UK, Sri Lanka will always be my home.
Cyclone Ditwah has brought one of the worst disasters my country has ever faced.
Entire villages are under water.
Homes, belongings, and livelihoods have been washed away.
Families are stranded, displaced, and trying to survive with almost nothing.
Watching this happen from far away has been heartbreaking.
My family and I cannot just sit and watch.
My kids and I have already donated our own saved money to help affected families across Sri Lanka. But it is simply not enough.
The need is far greater, and the suffering is huge.
I am asking for your help.
I need more generous, compassionate hands to join us.
How the Funds Will Be Used
I have direct, personal connections with trusted community groups, including:
• Local mosques
• Temples
• Local churches
• Community charities
• Grassroots volunteer teams
These organisations are already working on the ground, distributing food, water, clothing, blankets, medicine, and shelter support to families who have lost everything.
Because I know these groups personally, your donations will go directly and immediately to real people in need — without middlemen, delays, or unnecessary costs.
Your support will help provide:
• Food packs and dry rations
• Clean drinking water
• Emergency medical supplies
• Clothing, blankets, and hygiene essentials
• Temporary shelter materials
• Support for elderly and vulnerable families
• Assistance for those who have lost their homes completely
Even the smallest contribution can help a family survive this crisis.
Transparency and Trust
I promise to keep this fundraiser completely transparent.
• All donations will be collected in my UK bank account
• Funds will be transferred directly to verified mosques, Temples, churches, and community charities that I am personally connected with
• I will share regular updates, including:
• Total donations received
• Screenshots of transfers
• Photos and reports from Sri Lanka
• How and where funds were used
Every donor will be able to see how their contribution is helping real families on the ground.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
Cyclone Ditwah has affected millions across Sri Lanka.
Many have lost everything — their homes, their safety, and even loved ones.
Community groups are doing everything they can, but they urgently need resources.
Your support will help people survive, recover, and rebuild their lives.
Please Help Sri Lanka
If you can donate, your kindness will directly support those who need it most.
If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign will still make a huge difference.
From the bottom of my heart — and on behalf of my family and my country — thank you.
Ya Allah, protect my people. Protect my country.
Mirusha Adampulle
