Hello everyone,
Our sweet 4-year-old cat Squishy has been struggling with recurring urinary issues for almost a month now. While he hasn’t been fully blocked again since his last emergency visit, he’s been having repeated flare-ups — including another emergency trip last night — and these episodes can quickly become life-threatening for male cats.
Our vet has warned us that every time Squish has trouble urinating, the risk of a full blockage goes up. And if he does block again, he would need another catheter, which can cause long-term damage, scar tissue, and even permanent loss of his ability to pee. Because he keeps having these issues, the vet is recommending we move forward with a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery as soon as possible to prevent a dangerous blockage before it happens.
Squishy is my wife’s first cat and her absolute baby, and watching him go through this rollercoaster has been heartbreaking. We just want him to be safe, comfortable, and finally out of this cycle of pain and emergency visits. Getting the surgery done now gives him the best chance at a healthy, normal life — and lets us begin his month-long recovery and finally move forward.
Any help — whether it’s a donation, sharing this, or simply keeping Squish in your thoughts and prayers — truly means the world to us. Thank you for supporting our little family through this.
