Hi, my name is Catherine Reilly and I am the aunt of Katrina (Kat) Riboni. Kat is married to Jae, and they have two beautiful daughters, one who is 11 and one who is 5. Their 11-year-old daughter is Autistic, and has ADHD and anxiety. Up until recently, she would run when she felt uncomfortable or threatened.

During Covid, she was especially anxious and lonely. To help calm and comfort her, Kat and her partner decided to get a puppy who would become the perfect comfort pet for Lena.

Enter Sprocket, seen in the image above. Sprocket ended up not having the appearance of a golden doodle, but he more than compensated with his calm, intelligent demeanor. He is 4 years old. When they moved from Albany to Richmondville, her eldest daughter had more freedom than she had while living in an apartment. It was winter, and she would open the door to go out on the porch with no shoes or coat, in freezing temperatures. Sprocket would bark until someone would come to get her and bring her back into the house. As time went on, it became clear that Sprocket was very in tune with the entire family. He would come and put his head on the lap of a family member who was anxious or upset. He became a snuggle buddy for both children and a perfect member of their family.

Recently, Sprocket was diagnosed with cancer and requires surgery to remove the growths and for further testing. This surgery will cost $4,200, which does not cover any next steps. This unexpected expense comes right on the back of having to replace the sewage pipe in their house as well as repair their crumbling foundation.
