I never expected to make something like this, but we’re facing an emergency with our dog Sprinkles, and we really need some help.

While we were out getting our Christmas tree, Sprinkles got excited, ran ahead, and accidentally jumped straight through a section of barbed wire. She tore her inner thigh badly, and it requires immediate emergency care — sedation, wound cleaning, suturing, antibiotics, and pain medication.

We tried everything to find a regular vet, but no clinics were available, and the emergency vet is our only option. Their estimate is up to $2,000 for the full treatment.

To make things more frustrating, our new pet insurance policy doesn’t take effect for two more days, which means none of this visit is covered. The timing couldn’t have been worse.

Sprinkles is part of our family — sweet, goofy, and full of love — and we just want to get her the care she needs so she can heal safely. This injury can’t wait, and we’re not in a financial place right now to take on a bill this large—we are going to charge it to a card either way because we cannot wait.
