Help Springbok Academy

Friends and Family of Springbok Academy,

As the winter storms swept through Texas in mid-February, we are sad to report, that our beloved Springbok was one of the local businesses left with the largest and most devastating damage.  Springbok suffered a terrible flood from a burst water pipe in the ceiling over the library. Owner and Director, Liz Seibt, received a call on Wednesday evening that there was water running down the street outside of the school building.  When she arrived with her partner Francois, they found the entire building completely flooded with several inches of standing water.  Books, toys, and cherished memories were a complete loss.  She called her employees and a few parents and they worked through the night to push water out of the building.  This 25-year-old Denton establishment has been a second home to hundreds of families over the years.  The goal is to continue that legacy.  Springbok serves our community tirelessly in their volunteer efforts and festival participation.  They will receive insurance for most of the damage to replace all walls, ceilings, and contents but there will be significant loss with meeting the deductible, some contents that are irreplaceable, and the time and efforts to move buildings and pay some staff overtime while repairs are being made.
