Help Spraakwater to survive the fire

Our business burnt down!

A little over 3 months ago in the morning of August 5th 2021 we received the message that the building where we had stored our entire inventory including all our beloved bars, antique bakfiets and inventory of all our spirits, beverages, glassware and tools had burnt down and had turned to ashes.

The fire was so devastating that it even reached the media. You can find the stories here:

The damage? €45.000

Insurance won't cover us

Unfortunately it wasn't possible to get an insurance for our inventory since it was stored in a place together with the inventory of other companies and according to the policy of our insurance company ''too hazardous for insurance''.

We have spent the past months trying to figure out ways to cover our loss and to restart our business and had to deal with lots of closing doors. Of course, we do not want to stop here...

Our story will not end here

We have had the privilege of serving our concoctions throughout hundreds of places that took us from the heart of Amsterdam, throughout the beautiful country of The Netherlands and even beyond. The people we've met and stories we have shared are the fuel to our desire to keep going. Whether it is serving you cocktails, working on recipes, or teaching you the tricks of the trade we want to see you again soon!

Help us restart

It has been a rough past few years. With the COVID-19 measures in 2020 and 2021, we were basically waiting for the government measures to loosen up so we could host events again like many other catering companies and food trucks in our storage we were blind-sighted by the fire.

Nevertheless we are ready to restart our company. We're looking for a new venue and a carpenter to make new bars for us and want to recover the big loss of our spirits. We are seeking to raise €25.000 to make that happen and we need your help!

Ons bedrijf is weggebrand!

Ongeveer 3 maanden geleden in de ochtend van 5 augustus 2021 kregen wij bericht dat in het bedrijfspand waar wij onze gehele inventaris in opslag hadden waaronder onze geliefde bars, antieke bakfiets-bar, dranken, cocktailgerei volledig is afgebrand.

De brand was zo groot dat het zelfs in de nieuws kwam. Hieronder vind je de artikelen erover terug:

Totale schade: €45.000

Geen dekking door verzekeraar

Helaas was het niet mogelijk om onze inboedel te verzekeren, omdat we onze spullen in opslag hadden in een pand waar ook andere ondernemers inventaris hadden, werd dit risico door de verzekeraar niet aanvaard. We hebben op verschillende manieren bij verzekeraars geprobeerd om de schade vergoed te krijgen, maar helaas heeft het niet mogen baten.

Desalniettemin leggen wij ons er niet bij neer en zijn daarom vastberaden dat ons verhaal hier niet stopt..

Wij willen door!

8 jaar lang hebben wij mogen genieten van de vele gesprekken, lieve en inspirerende mensen waar we mee hebben gewerkt. Spraakwater heeft ons van hartje Amsterdam tot door het gehele land en zelfs daarbuiten gebracht en wij zijn nog lang niet klaar om jullie weer de dorst komen te lessen.

Help ons Spraakwater te herstarten

Het is natuurlijk een zware periode geweest de afgelopen jaren. Vanwege de corona maatregelen zaten we in een donkere periode vol met onzekerheid te wachten tot de overheid versoepelingen zou aankondigen. We willen niet accepteren dat al het wachten voor niets is geweest door deze brand. Daarom zijn we hard bezig om ons bedrijf te herstarten. Zo zijn we druk opzoek naar een nieuwe locatie in Amsterdam en zoeken we een timmerman die nieuwe barmeubilair voor ons kan maken.

Hoewel we druk in de weer zijn hiermee, hebben we jouw hulp nodig om dit doel te realiseren. We willen €25.000 ophalen om een nieuwe pand en nieuwe inboedel te bekostigen.
