Hello,
My name is Jules Crosby and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Miami. In May 2023, I received my B.S. in Motion Pictures, Screenwriting with a minor in Journalism. I was named Outstanding Senior by the Motion Pictures department within the School of Communication for my screenwriting work and prior production experience.
Over the course of my four years at UM, I’ve left my legacy through the establishment of the first Black student publication on campus- Gravity Magazine (www.thegravitymagazine.com)
I was also named a UTrailblazer by the UM Black Alumni Society for my efforts with the magazine, in addition to being recognized by Reebok as a Human Rights Award finalist in 2021.
My passion is writing in all forms, with the ultimate goal to become a television writer and actor. I recently just became the youngest member of the Black Boy/Girl Writes Mentorship Program— an initiative to give Black pre-WGA writers access to mentorship, script workshops, potential representation and more. I’ll be working from Saatchi & Saatchi’s LA office this summer, a subsidiary of the third biggest advertising agency in the world: Publicis Groupe.
Moving to Los Angeles has always been my dream, but it’s going to take a village to make this move as seamless as possible. Donations would contribute directly to two month’s rent, shipping my car, purchasing airfare and getting a new and working laptop.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Let’s make some dreams come true!
UPDATE: My car was recently vandalized down the street from my apartment complex. Even with insurance, I am still paying hefty out-of-pocket fees and am now looking to move into a new apartment. Any help would mean the world.
