Help Spirit Begin Her Journey in Social Work!
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
This fall, I’m starting my Master of Social Work program at the University of Michigan, an opportunity I’ve worked incredibly hard to earn. My passion lies in advocating for Black youth and families affected by systemic barriers, and I’m committed to creating real, lasting change in underserved communities.
Throughout my undergrad years, I combined hands-on service with academic research. I’ve supported K–12 students in after-school programs, worked one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum using ABA techniques, and led mental wellness groups. I've also contributed to research on Imposter Syndrome among Black students and stigma around Borderline Personality Disorder, work that’s now being published in a peer-reviewed journal. These experiences continue to fuel my mission of merging clinical practice with culturally responsive, community-driven care.
While I’ve secured some financial aid, I’m still short a couple thousand for my first semester’s expenses, and as someone supporting myself entirely, I’m turning to my village for help. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word of encouragement, your support means everything to me!!
Every contribution brings me one step closer to a career grounded in healing, advocacy, and social transformation. Thank you for believing in me and the purpose I’m walking toward.
With love,
Spirit
