Hello All, this last Sunday evening while my wife and I were walking our three small dogs in our neighborhood, my wife and our miniature schnauzer mix, Spike, were approached from behind and Spike was attacked by a larger dog. Spike sustained a severe injury to his leg that resulted in the amputation of his front left leg. The emergency vet who performed the initial surgery to repair the injury was unsuccessful and recommended the amputation, which had to be done by a second vet clinic.
We are currently asking for compensation from the other dog owner, but they have been hostile and uncooperative. The vet bills from both clinics have quickly added up, and we are struggling to cover these unexpected expenses. The funds raised will go directly toward paying for Spike’s emergency care and surgery, helping us give him the best chance at recovery and a happy life on three legs.
I would like to thank anyone who donates. We are a family that basically lives check to check, and we truly appreciate any help, no matter how big or small. Everything helps. Your support means the world to us and to Spike as he begins his journey to heal and adjust to his new life.
