Good News Update!
Spencer is walking again!
After months of hard work, multiple weekly therapies, and an incredible amount of determination, Spencer has regained the ability to walk. While he still doesn’t have full sensation in his legs quite yet (he describes it as walking on stilts), this is a huge and hopeful step forward.

That said, his medical team has confirmed that his condition is considered lifelong, with the potential for setbacks. Because of this, Spencer now has a custom wheelchair and walker to have on hand as a backup...just in case.

Thanks to the generous donations from friends, family, and this amazing community, much of that financial burden has been eased. We can't thank you enough.

We’re beyond grateful that Spencer is mobile again, and we remain hopeful that his recovery continues. Your support has truly made a difference in his life. Thank you

UPDATE:
Over the past month, Spencer had been making some hopeful progress; he was able to stand on his own for short moments (still without sensation, but it was a meaningful step forward). Unfortunately, the last few weeks have brought a new challenge...

Spencer has started experiencing absent seizures, which have caused some regression in his mobility and daily function. It’s been frustrating and discouraging, but he’s staying as positive as he can.

He’s continuing with medical appointments and therapies, and we’re hopeful that with the right care and support, this is just a temporary setback.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared this page.

Your kindness continues to make a real difference in Spencer’s life. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

--------------

On April 8th, 2025, our friend Spencer Wright suffered a serious life-altering fall down a set of stairs. Eight steps in fact. Eight steps that have changed his life dramatically.
Since that day, Spencer has been paralyzed from the waist down.

After multiple tests and medical evaluations, Spencer was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) - a condition where the body experiences real neurological symptoms without structural damage to the brain or spinal cord.

While Spencer, family, friends and medical teams hold hope that Spencer will one day walk again, the road ahead is long, uncertain, and emotionally and physically exhausting. Spencer is currently navigating daily life from a wheelchair, working through intensive therapies and adjusting to this current new reality.

His journey will involve:
Ongoing physical therapy (currently waitlisted for Parkwood Rehab in London)
Medical equipment and accessibility modifications to his home
Transportation to and from medical appointments
Loss of income during recovery and rehabilitation

This GoFundMe is a way for friends, family and kind strangers to support Spencer during this time. Any amount you can give - no matter how small - will go directly toward his care, comfort and chance at recovery.

We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate, so we ask that you please consider sharing this page to help us reach more people.

Spencer has always been one to show up for others - and now it's our turn to show up for him.

Thank you for your support, kindness and prayers.
