Spencer and Jaidyn Conover were living their regular, vibrant, young married lives, as most young married couples do. They met in Idaho, fell in love, and were married in August of 2023.

The next months were busy with college, jobs, the cutest dog named Obi-wan, and basic training for the Idaho Army National Guard. They happily announced in late 2025 that they are expecting their first sweet baby girl in June of 2026. She loves strawberries and her daddy's voice, which she demonstrates with vigorous kicking.

Their world came to a screeching, gut-wrenching halt two weeks ago when Spencer was diagnosed with cancer. In the words of Jaidyn, “[Spencer] had an MRI to check on a possible hip tear ... the results came back letting us know there was a tumor in his hip." After many more tests they also found an additional tumor in his stomach and diagnosed him with aggressive and rapidly-progressing high-grade B-cell Lymphoma with Burkitts. They came to Utah immediately after this diagnosis for treatment at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Testing and intensive treatment began four days ago. Spencer's doctors outlined an aggressive chemotherapy regimen and treatment plan in Utah for the next several months.

Friends, Jaidyn and Spencer need our help. They have both left jobs and school and their home back in Idaho to fight cancer here in Utah. The costs for medical treatment will be exponential, not to mention the burden of temporary moving expenses, travel for Spencer’s family to visit him (see photo #3 of Spencer and his adoring baby sister who lives across the country), financial support for the expenses of a newborn, and the opportunity cost of not being able to work.
