Help Special Needs Children Travel Safely for Medical Care
Donation protected
Children with cognitive and physical limitations that require them to have a contained sleeping environment, much like a crib provides for an infant/toddler, struggle to travel. Imagine needing a special bed like this and trying to stay in a hotel! Travel beds are available, but they can be cost prohibitive (many thousands of dollars) and very cumbersome to transport (a large, heavy suitcase to manage and transport in addition to luggage, etc.) Dr. Berry Kravis’s team at Rush University Medical Center treats many of these patients, who travel from across the country (and other parts of the world) for treatment. We’d like to give them a Safety Sleeper bed to have available for these families to use while staying at nearby hotels for treatment at Rush, so that they can travel without the hassle of dragging a safety bed back and forth or worrying about how they will manage their child overnight without one. Will you help us?
