Help Spc. Joshua A. Pruitt Fight for Justice & Cover Federal Court Legal Fees

“I served my country. Now I’m asking my country to serve me back—with truth, and with justice.”
— Spc. Joshua A. Pruitt, GWOT OEF 2005 Afghanistan War Veteran

Why We Need Your Help:

After deploying as a Combat Engineer in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom (2005), Spc. Joshua Pruitt returned home carrying invisible wounds. For two decades he’s battled service-connected PTSD, endured a wrongful General Court-Martial, and watched his younger brother Gregory die by suicide when help came too late. Now, Josh is calling on every American who believes in our veterans to support his fight for justice—and to help cover the mounting legal fees required to clear his name and obtain the care he earned in blood.

The Legal Battle Ahead
Pruitt's Military firm has quoted:

$2,000 for comprehensive research and preparation of his formal Article 32 review

$8,000 + hourly fees to secure expert testimony, updated mental-health documentation, and representation through every board and court

These funds will cover:

Article 32 Investigation – A full inquiry to expose procedural errors, ensure mental-health evaluations were performed, and suspend unjust punitive designations.

Medical Evaluation Board Referral – Documentation and advocacy to obtain the lifetime care Josh needs.

Record Correction – Removing the “bad paper” discharge that blocks his VA benefits, employment opportunities, and dignity.

Appeals & Representation – Expert counsel through the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR), the Discharge Review Board (DRB/ARBA), and, Plus the Federal Courts.

Josh’s Story
“When I came home, I came home to nothing, lost my wife, relationship with children, home and a bond with my family, I fought 16 years of homelessness, I didn’t bring peace with me. I brought war. For nearly two decades, I’ve fought PTSD with every resource I had—only to be railroaded into a General Court-Martial under Heinous Prosecution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. They trained me to survive war. They never trained me to survive the silence that came after. And they sure as hell didn’t give me the justice I deserve.”
— Spc. Joshua A. Pruitt

2005: Deployed as a Combat Engineer Under Fire—Convoy Support, Q.R.F, and responsible for F.O.B Ripley Parameter Security, Maintenance of Random Work Sites and Fortification.

F.O.B. Ripley, or Forward Operating Base Ripley, was a U.S. Marine Corps base located in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, near Tarin Kowt. It served as a key location for operations against the Taliban During Operation Mountain Storm and was named after Marine Colonel John W. Ripley, known for his actions in Vietnam. The base included a 6,000-foot runway, a helicopter refueling and rearming point, and multiple landing pads, construction of the Dining Facility, Basic Operations & Maintenance Yard.

2005 Trial: Faced the military’s harshest prosecution venue despite no evidence of violence or purposeful criminal intent, General Court Martials are reserved for Heinous Crimes such as Murder, Rape, or Assaulting a Officer. Spc Pruitt did nothing to deserve to be punished in the way that he was, He was represented by the Military's Version of a Public Defender.

2005–Present: Compliant with all Army and VA mental-health protocols, yet denied the behavioral evaluations the DoD requires when mental health is a factor in disciplinary proceedings.

2018: Lost his brother, PFC Gregory M. Pruitt, to suicide after Gregory’s cries for help went unheard. Josh refuses to let another veteran suffer in silence.
