Help Spay & Neuter homeless cats in Mesa
Donation protected
There are many homeless and unneutered cats roaming our Mesa neighborhood, and kitten season is year round. I'm hoping that, together, we can prevent any other unwanted cats being being born to live a life on the street. Thanks to discounted appointments available through the ADLA, Sassy Cats and Altered Tails, each surgery costs just $35 per cat (a huge discount compared to retail prices), and sometimes a bit more if pain medication or antibiotics are needed. Given the amount of unfixed cats in our neighborhood, I will need some assistance funding all of these spays and neuters.
After trapping, I hold the cats for a few days to recover after their surgeries, then I return them back where I trapped them. Per Arizona laws, it is illegal abandonment to release them at a new location. If the kitty is friendly, I do my best to find him or her a rescue.
Who am I? I am a lifelong cat lover who has volunteered with several local animal rescues, including Saving One Life and Friends For Life. I became very involved in trapping, neutering, and returning (TNR) feral cats last year (May 2020) after losing three of my own cats to cancer and old age in 2020. Since last year, I have trapped and fixed OVER 35 neighborhood cats and kittens, with help from friends and neighbors (as of August 2021).
Any funds not used for spaying and neutering the cats will be used to feed the homeless cats in the neighborhood. Currently, I feed 10-15 homeless cats every night, 7 days a week.
