Real talk…

Since the pandemic, the number of abandoned cats on the streets has skyrocketed. Local rescues and shelters are beyond capacity, and many of us independent rescuers are left to cover the costs of vetting (spay/neuter, vaccines, testing) on our own.

I’m currently managing and trapping at 10 colony locations, along with helping other rescuers I partner with. Every week, new cats show up, and without basic vetting, rescues can’t take them in.

With CT cutting back spay/neuter vouchers and the cost of living rising, the abandonment crisis is worse than ever.

We need help more than ever. I don’t receive grant funding, so I rely on community support.

Here’s what it costs at our discounted rates:

• $210 — Female (spay + vaccines + snap test + parasite treatment)

• $190 — Male (neuter + vaccines + snap test + parasite treatment)
