Help Sparrow Heal from Meningitis

Story

This fundraiser is to help offset the medical expenses for Sparrow, our newborn diagnosed with Meningitis. My wife Sara -- who brought this beautiful being into the world -- is a full-time Yoga teacher like myself, and Sparrow is already a little warrior, too. We are deeply grateful for any donations, which go directly to her medical care related to her diagnosis. Namaste. -- Sparrow was born on Monday, July 25th at 1:34 am (at home, healthy and strong), but she took a turn for the worse by Monday evening. On Tuesday, we 911'd her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, a very severe, potentially life-threatening infection. To complete treatment at the needed level we had to transfer her at 3am to Kaiser in SF. But it appears we caught it early enough to avoid major developmental impacts (including seizures and brain damage but further scans and tests are still needed), and she's now on antibiotics and receiving all possible care in the world. No seizures were noted Tuesday-Thursday, and she was taken off those monitors. All signs point towards a full recovery, but the way forward remains uncertain. She is taking it one day at a time and will likely have to be in the hospital for another 2-3 weeks to receive treatment.
