Hello, my name is Kayla. My cat Sparky was recently diagnosed with cancer. He had a mass removed mid July that was ulcerated and bleeding near his tail. The amount we’ve raised so far was used for this surgery. I have exhausted all of my own finances towards his care, and I will continue to keep fighting for him because he means the world to me. We still don’t have confirmed answers for the stage of cancer, they have mentioned three types of cancers and are now leaning towards a Nerve sheath tumor. We have been recommended to an Oncologist and I have recieved an estimate from them. The biggest priority right now is to get more diagnostic testing done to provide us with answers about the type of cancer and the staging of it, as well as to see if it’s spread. He has two new lumps, one on each of his sides that are under the skin- and also a new dark spot on his tail that has me very concerned, as they said there is chance for regrowth and spreading of this cancer. Sparky is only roughly 8 years old. He’s been my companion for the last few years, I adopted him at a time when I was moving from home and needed a companion to ease my anxiety. He’s been by my side ever since, and has provided me with a lot of comfort during some hard times. It is true what they say about animals being your best friend, and Sparky is mine. I work for a school and have been laid off until recently for the duration of summer break. I am urgently trying to save money to go towards his care, but income is limited. This is not the outcome I was hoping for, truly my heart is breaking and I want to do everything in my power to give Sparky the best fighting chance.
