Hi, I'm Jenny from London, UK. I've been in touch with Sozan, a mother of 3 daughters currently living on the beach in Khan Yunis, Gaza. In her own words:
I am a mother of 3 young girls, (1,5 and 8) My tent has become uninhabitable due to the constant displacement from one place to another. I have a little girl who was injured by enemy bullets and she needs care. My husband is unemployed and I have no income or money to spend on my family. I am a broken mother and I cannot find warmth or food for my children. I wish I could warm them with my heart and feed them with my body but the situation is very, very difficult.
I don't like greed and I just want to fulfill my daughters' desires and provide for them as much as I can. When I was displaced I did not take anything with me, not clothes, blankets or a pillow. I need that in addition to milk, diapers and winter clothes for the cold weather. I also need a new tent to protect us from the rain as mine is torn and does not keep out water. I also need to buy medicine, firewood, and some cleaning tools.
We lost our home, our land, our work, and everything we owned in this war. We have nothing left.
The costs of everyday essential in Gaza are exorbitantly high. We're aiming to raise £7000 for a tent, clothes, blankets, food, firewood, medicine, milk and diapers.
No donation is too small, anything you can spare will help Sozan and her family during this unimaginably difficult time. If you can't afford to donate, please share this page with friends and family or anyone you know that might be able to help.
Thank you so much.
