Help South Tampa Family Rebuild After Hurricane

Hurricane Helene brought a couple of feet of water into the South Tampa house of my mother, stepfather, and younger siblings.

Their house was ruined along with all of their belongings. Thankfully, insurance will help with the costs of the house foundation, but unfortunately, insurance will not cover any of the contents in their home that were completely destroyed.

Finding a place to live while they try to rebuild a home can be challenging, especially when it needs to be wheelchair accessible, in the vicinity of my younger brother's school, and have immediate availability while so many people in the area who were also victims of Hurricane Helene are also searching for shelter. But the cost of relocation is also not something insurance helps with.

The financial burden of trying to find and pay for a place to live while seeing your home demolished and all of your belongings destroyed is a burden I do not wish upon anyone. Having to pay rent and a mortgage, while putting out money to replace belongings adds a huge financial stress to my family.

No amount is too little, if you’re able to donate anything it will make a huge difference in helping my family relocate, rebuild, and replace everything from my brother's backpack to the beds they need to sleep on.
