Help us FEED SOUTH CENTRAL! We are deeply committed to fighting food insecurity and the food apartheid which currently exists in our community. But we need your help. Your contribution will help fund our weekly South LA Grocery Giveaways as well as our other food distribution programs!
HERE IS MORE ABOUT OUR SOUTH LA CAFE MISSION
We are fighting for the health, wealth, and safety of our South Central Los Angeles community and we need your help to fight food apartheid, create safe spaces for black and brown lives, and we will fight for justice for our people. Here is our commitment:
1) WE WILL FIGHT FOOD APARTHEID: In response to our community's food desert, we will work to provide access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food. We will do this through our Cafe and Market offerings as well as our weekly South LA Grocery Giveaways. This weekly food distribution feeds over 150 local families every week.
2) WE WILL PROVIDE A SAFE SPACE CENTERED ON BLACK & BROWN LIVES: We are committed to playing our part in keeping alive the vibrant culture and history of South Central Los Angeles. In addition to coffee, we will continue to provide community arts, culture, music, and social justice programming. As well as provide a safe and sanitized outdoor patio gathering space.
3) WE WILL FIGHT FOR JUSTICE: We will continue to be a community leader and speak up and out about the social issues which affect our community the most. We will focus our work on empowering lower-income communities of color.
