Help Soraya Monéts Healing Journey
July 5th the course of our family's lives were changed forever...
Soraya (4), Josiah (5) and I were visiting land out of the city to view a space to call our new home.
I recently had saved and bought a used travel trailer to give us the freedom to live a simpler life immersed in nature.
During the visit to the property a gaurd dog was out roaming the grounds.
This dog approached my daughter and viciously attacked her face. Causing her nose to almost be completely severed, knocking out 5 of her teeth when biting through her cheek into her soft palate, including her front permanent tooth that was still in the gum line. After mauling her face and neck he then locked into her groin and dragged her off the porch down the stairs into the yard.
Through the grace of God our friend was able to restrain the dog long enough so I could pull her out of his bite and into safety.
We waited for what felt like an eternity, but was actually a painstaking hour for the helicopter, life flight to bring her and I to dell children's hospital.
While waiting she was spitting out her teeth. Yet she was so strong.
They evaluated her upon arrival and called in a plastic surgeon on duty immediately.
She was rushed to surgery , having a total facial reconstruction procedure, including full nose reconstruction and stitches to her throat, groin and thigh area and buttocks.
She stayed in a medically induced coma on a ventilation machiene for two terrifying days.
She is a warrior Soul... so strong.... so brave....
Her first words after waking were " I did it, I can talk, I hope that dog is in jail"
Now starts the journey to recovery.
We had no medical insurance.
She will need more medical procedures in the future .
She also needs her mama's support to care for her and not rush to work to handle this financial , physical and emotional crisis.
"Soraya" means bright shining light of God. And that she is. I ask from the bottom of my heart help financially during this chapter of our lives. We appreciate all the continued prayers and support.
Thank you so much. Namasté
Andrea Soraya and Josiah
